Announces Fundraising Partnership with Susan
G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
Local credit card transactions will now support Atlanta affiliate
ATLANTA - March 30, 2006 - Today, Electronic
Exchange Systems (EXS), a credit card and internet
transaction processing provider, announced that the
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Greater Atlanta
Affiliate has been selected as a recipient for funds
raised through its Processing for a Cause program.
Now, Atlanta-area merchants who use EXS as their
credit card processor can elect to have 10 percent
of their transaction fees donated to the Komen Foundation.
The announcement was made one month out from Komen's
largest fundraiser, the annual Race for the Cure® taking place May 13, at Atlantic Station.
The Komen partnership marks the first
time an Atlanta-area non-profit will benefit from
the Processing for a Cause program. "With Americans
charging more than $2.4 trillion on credit cards
each year, donations based on merchant transaction
fees offer charitable organizations a strong revenue
stream," said Ken Osako, president, Processing for
a Cause. "The Processing for a Cause program is a
simple and seamless way for local merchants to build
supportive relationships with invaluable agencies
like the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation," he added.
Without any extra costs, businesses
that join Processing for a Cause can contribute a
portion of each transaction fee to a wide range of
charitable organizations. For more information about
Komen Atlanta's Race for the Cure, contact Komen at
